the show was called D'Arranged Marriage, but it was pronounced as Deranged Marriage. haha. and it was a one-man play, meaning only one man will play out 4 or 5 characters all by himself.
here's the sypnosis given by the website..
"D'Arranged Marriage tells the story of a young Indian boy called Sanjay who spends most of his life avoiding the issue of an arranged marriage. His nagging family finally gets the better of him but to his surprise he discovers that Neenu, the prospective bride, is the one! Unfortunately 'the one' is already dating the village idiot Rundeep… Adding to Sanjay's trials and tribulations are an uncle who yearns for the perfect woman who loves to cook, clean and play cricket, an annoying cousin, Sudefed…who is full of useless information. Throw in Mr. Dave Patel, Neenu's father, Johnny Walker's best friend and resident snob at No. 42 Smith Street, and you have the funniest parody of Indian family life since Bend it Like Beckham."
the show was performed by Rajeev Varma who lives in New Zealand.
okay, let me tell u something. the show was HILARIOUS! from the beginning until the end, i was laughing non-stop. there were obscene scenes and he cursed too, so i guess its PG-13. lol. that guy is just awesome wei. one and a half hour dancing and jumping around the stage. and the best part is, he can remember what character he's playing one time and then switch to another character like snapping his fingers. he's freaking awesome :)
plus, the guy next to me was kinda cute!! haha. and he was alone. lol.
since it was opening night, they served cheap wine and food after the play.
Uncle Shawm spent almost RM1000 on the tickets thankyouverymuch.
