4. february in a thousand words

Hey hi hello,

Haven't blogged in almost a month, and I'm really sorry. I was down for two alternate weeks, one with a fever and the other with a bad case of the stomach flu. In between disorientation, feeling weak and crawling back home to mum's in Sepang for comfort and some TLC, I hardly had time to blog.

It nagged at me though, and occasionally ideas would spring about but every time I got into the office, I'm swamped with work so that I put blogging aside. I still work seven days a week, weekends at Starbucks and I admit it takes a toll on me. And of course there was the amazing, food-filled and fulfilling Penang trip with my best friends. So yeah, the past month has been pretty hectic for me.

Today's post is going to be simple. I've already built the content in the past month, so it's really no excuse, I can't say that I don't have time to sit down and write. So here goes nothing, my first Instagram post, for the month of February, in random order (in hopes to achieve some form of design, not). Hope you like it.

+ An impromptu family dinner (meaning with both my parents) that lead us to Pickle & Fig, a new cafe in Taman Tun. Slightly pricey, but food was amazing. I had smoked salmon sandwich, the picture in the middle on the right.
+ My new dolphin bookmark! I lost the orang asli handmade one that I used and loved for many books, when I was on the train. I was devastated so I decided to walk to Times and got a new one for myself there and then. Impulsive shopping habit strikes again.
+ Also got myself three mini Cath Kidston journals (after much thought and deliberation, this time round!) to journal my new soul-searching, trying-to-be-healthy-living, and live-out-my-dreams adventures.
+ A picture taken over a year ago, on the last day I saw my other half. Yes it's true, I've been living with only half of myself ever since. #throwback
+ Homemade Spaghetti Bologna courtesy of Daddy Chang. It had two different sausages, black pepper cocktails and chicken frankfurters, and some sliced tomatoes. Healthy living at its best (not.)
+ This amazingly adorable girl that was coloring on the train. Two days later she sat next to me, smiling and asking me what color her cartoons humans should be.

+ Nasi Kandar Line Clear when I was in Penang. Taken while waiting in line. The irony.
+ Convinced that I put on weight. Taken in our budget backpacker's inn in Penang. I will always remember this place.
+ Nasi Lemak Goreng, probably the best midnight food, especially when you're having munchies.
+ On a quiet, Saturday morning in Penang.
+ Chinese New Year this year. Why this post had over 20 likes still baffles me.
+ Beautiful artwork on some lamps being sold at Batu Feringghi.

+ Back when I had decent, short hair. Still feel like cutting it so badly.
+ The Penang bunch. I love some of these people to death.
+ Aaaand, here's how long my hair is right now. I had to flip it over that way, or else the nightmare from my childhood (middle partings) will revisit.

+ Taken in the office, my first public selfie of twenty thirteen.
+ And then another in Penang.
+ Random fireworks that burst out behind our dorms. They were so close I could feel the heat.

That's pretty much all I can manage for the week (haha). I've already got inspiration for the next few posts, but how I long it will take me to actually write it and publish it, that leaves for another dwelling.

Till the next post,

Au revoir, ma joli.
